Does the world need another Christian homeschooling blog?

Goals for My Christian Homeschooling Blog

Another Christian Homeschooling Blog?

Does the world need yet another Christian homeschooling blog?  Hmmmm….well, yeah, of course!  The more homeschoolers out here encouraging others, giving been-there, done-that advice, creating resources especially for homeschoolers…the merrier.  We need to support each other in this unique journey and learn so much from one another.

So who am I?

After 18 years of homeschooling, I’m called on constantly to help get friends and friends-of-friends started on their own homeschooling journey which I gladly do.  Advising new homeschoolers is so rewarding and exciting to me. This is another reason I wanted to start this Christian homeschooling blog. I can provide real advice based on long-term experiences. I’ve tried so many curriculums, tested out different homeschooling methods, and read all the books.  So many homeschooling blogs have helped me along the way.  I want to give back and encourage others, just as I have been encouraged.

All this to say….I’ve been in the trenches. I’ve been there, done that, and lived to tell about it. Here I am, letting you pick my brain and ask me questions. I’ll always be honest and authentic. First and foremost, I’m a Christian (and a pastor’s wife). I’m not here to trick anyone into buying something they don’t need. I promise to only recommend a resource on that I’m an affiliate for if I truly believe in it.

So on to the 5 ways that this Christian homeschooling blog will help you!

5 Ways This Christian Homeschooling Blog Can Help You

Encourage Homeschooling Moms

Encourage homeschooling moms

Encourage homeschooling moms is a pretty broad statement, isn’t it? Lots of homeschooling blogs do that already. So what makes me different?

I’m going to be honest with you and not sugar coat reality.

I’ll be transparent about what I thought was going to happen and what actually did happen.

Isn’t that what we all want as parents? We want someone to deal with us straight. Prepare us and give us a glimpse of what’s to come.

And I can do that with 18 years of experience homeschooling.

Life’s not easy; homeschooling isn’t easy. But it can bring you so much happiness and joy.

Save you time

So what is the one thing we all as homeschooling moms are in desperate need of? Finding more time. I know you are thinking, “Okay, and where where am I going to find more time?” .

I’m not going to tell you things like scrub the grout in your bathroom while you take a shower to save time. There’s plenty of websites for those kinds of tips!

But with this Christian homeschooling blog, I’m going to help you save time in lesson planning, curriculum planning, and school time. Once you save a few hours on the weekend or an hour each weekday, then we will start exploring the next thing on my list.

Finding ways for self-care

“Self-care” is the popular buzzword right now, isn’t it? It’s popular because SO many moms are drowning right now. All moms….working moms, stay-at-home-moms, homeschooling moms, single moms, widowed moms, full-time everything moms.

We. Are. Drowning.

We are stressed-out, anxious, overwhelmed, and emotionally exhausted. Some of us even deal with physical ailments along with it all.

Self-care may be an over-used term right now, but the content isn’t. It’s desperately needed. We will explore ways to feel normal again. Calm, confident, peaceful, relaxed, and “chill” as my adult teen says.

Save money

Another thing that causes us stress is money. And I know we have the “shiny new object” syndrome when it comes to homeschooling curriculum! (Curriculum hoarder, anyone? Raising two hands here!) I’ve had many, many years of trying out curriculums. One way to save you money is give honest reviews on different curriculum so you will know what not to buy. I’ll help you make every dollar in your homeschooling budget count.

Providing resources

This is what started this whole Christian homeschooling blog. I wantedt to create printable resources for homeschooling parents.

Opening up my Teachers Pay Teachers store was the first step and has helped me to find my creative side again. And this Christian homeschooling blog will help me connect with you.
Things that I plan on creating for you

* Ready-made lesson plans to save you time
* Curriculum helps for your favorite curriculums
* A teacher’s lesson planner made JUST for homeschoolers!
* Unit study helps
* Preschool curriculum
* School-room (or kitchen, living room, wherever you homeschool!) decor like calendar time, circle time, mini-bulletin boards, Word Walls, Focus Walls, banners, and posters
* Morning Binders for younger children to give you some quiet time with your older students

….and lots more!
